Impulse Help - Integrating PayPal
Now you can use the Web's most popular payment service with
Impulse! Follow these simple instructions to get your Impulse
site set up to work with PayPal.
Step 1: Get A PayPal account
It's free and easy. If you don't already have an account,
head over to the
PayPal site and sign up. If you already have an account,
go to step 2.
Step 2: Put your order e-mail on your PayPal account
Log in to your PayPal account, then click on "Profile"
in the small menu bar at the top. On the next screen, you'll
see a number of different links to change attributes of your
profile--click on "E-mail". Then click "Add"
when the next screen appears, enter the same e-mail address
that you use to receive your Impulse orders, and click "Save."
This is important--Impulse uses your order e-mail address
as your login to PayPal; if PayPal doesn't recognize the e-mail
address, the transaction will not work.
Step 3: Make sure Instant Payment Notification is turned
off
Go back to the "Profile" section of your PayPal
account. Click on the "Instant Payment Notification"
link. Make sure that Instant Payment Notification is turned
off, and that the URL listed is "None."
Step 4: Add the "PayPal" payment type to Impulse
In Impulse, go to the fourth section: "Ordering Information".
Then go to the subsection "Order and Payment Settings".
Click the "Specify Payment Methods" button. Go to
the very bottom of the list on the left and add "Other".
When it asks for a name, put in "PayPal" Click Ok,
then Done to close that box.
Step 5: Publish your site
Build your site with Impulse and publish it to the Internet.
Now, when a customer gets to the order screen to choose a
payment type, the customer can choose "PayPal",
and he/she will be diverted to PayPal to make payment. After
payment is made, the customer will come back to your thank
you page, and you'll receive the e-mail with the details of
the order.
